Open Days

Welcome to all that paid us a visit on the Open Days.

Our Meetings are every tuesday, currently.

We have people from various fields that come in and give talks which are usually about an hour in length with refreshments afterwards. These are people from all fields of science and cover everything from amateurs to leading academics in their field.

After the meetings we have astronomical observing sessions on the science building roof, weather permitting of course.

Every year we have a trip abroad, last year we visited CERN and this year we plan to visit Hamburg.

If you want to know more, drop us an email. Astro2@nuimsu.com

We hope to see many of you next year at fairs day.

ASTEROID

There is going to be an asteroid passing close to earth, closer than the moon, in the next week. The best time to see it will be tuesday, unfortunatley it won't be visable to the naked eye and only larger telescopes will pick it up, but if we have an observing session then it's worth a try to catch it.
